      ADORATION CHAPEL: The Blessed Sacrament is reserved for adoration by all the faithful in the St. Pius X Chapel located in the rear of the Church building. Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament is strongly encouraged as the Eucharist is the ‘source and summit’ of our spiritual lives. Adorers can attest to the many favors received through this devout practice. To obtain the combination for the chapel  stop by the church office at 3822 Bayou Rapides Road, during office hours.

If you are not Catholic, now might be a great time to investigate the possibility. You are certainly welcome! Regardless of place of residence anyone may register and belong to any parish by diocesan law.

        If you have enjoyed St. Rita Shows in the past, or even if you are a newcomer to our talent and cuisine, you won’t want to miss our Valentine’s Day Banquet and Show.  Scheduled for Friday, February 14, you can treat yourself and your loved ones to a great musical presentation featuring our Choir and musicians (and me, too!)  Tickets are on sale at the Parish Office for “The Glory Of Love,” which will begin at 6:30 PM in the Holy Family Center on Valentine’s Day.  Tickets are $15 per person, and include wine, 4 course sit down dinner, and a wonderful show!  THERE ARE LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE!  For more information, or to purchase tickets with a credit card, call 445-7141, ext. 214 by Wednesday, February 12.

        As you know, the cold, flu and pneumonia season is in full swing.  Please use common sense when coming to worship for your protection and that of fellow parishioners.  Please remember IT IS NOT A SIN to miss Mass if you are sick (OR if you are caring for someone who is sick and cannot be left alone)!

        Eucharistic Ministers, please take from the basket in the sacristy an individually packaged Purell Hand-Sanitizing Wipe, and use it before distributing communion.   There is also a dispenser next to the medal board for you to use before and after Mass.

      NEW SHUT-INS: In the past we have found people who were in the hospital, who should have been on our shut-ins list. If you know someone who is Catholic, belongs to St. Rita Parish and cannot come to Mass because of medical reasons, please contact Sr. Hannah Marie O’Brien at 445-7141 ext 216. We have Eucharistic servers who bring communion to all our shut-ins at least once a week. Our priests visit shut-ins regularly. Please be aware of your neighbors.

      SENIOR CITIZENS MARDI GRAS PARTY will be held on Thursday, February 27th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Bring your favorite covered dish, we will provide the meat and drinks. Please call 445-7141 ext 214 to RSVP by Monday, February 24th.

      ALTAR AND ROSARY SOCIETY will meet on Thursday, February 20th, 5:30 PM in the Holy Family Center. Please bring a $5.00 Valentine for the Valentine exchange. Please note that the meeting has been changed from the 13th to the 20th due to the Valentine Banquet on February 14th.             –Mrs. Jean Hollier

      ST. RITA WISE CRACKERS are senior ladies who meet once a week for fellowship and quilting. Can’t sew, no problem there is plenty of cutting, piecing together and fun for all.       ST. RITA CHURCH BLOOD DRIVE Sunday, February 16, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM on the LifeShare Bus at church.  Support your community, our church parish. Save a life by donating blood.  All donors will receive a t-shirt and refreshments.
      ST. VINCENT de PAUL STORE located at 1210 Bolton Avenue. If you have any donations of furniture, appliances, household items or clothing, you may drop off your donations at the store.  Please arrange to drop off all donations at the store; we do not always have the resources to immediately pick up donated items. The store hours are  Tuesday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. We do provide a letter of donation for tax purposes. For more information call 473-0887.    

      CHILD NUTRITION TECHNICIAN needed at Holy Savior Menard High School. Hours are 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday thru Friday. Applicant must be drug-free and able to pass a background screening. Position requires a high school diploma or GED. Applicant should have the willingness to follow instructions and be a reliable team player, cooking knowledge, organizational skills, and ability to clean. Prior food service experience not required but is a plus, pay rate depends on depends on experience. To apply or for further information call 445-6424 ext 232. Substitute position also available, must be able to report to work upon short notice.
