ADORATION CHAPEL: The Blessed Sacrament is reserved for adoration by all the faithful in the St. Pius X Chapel located in the rear of the Church building. To obtain the combination for the chapel stop by the church office at 3822 Bayou Rapides Road, during office hours. We remind you not to give the code to anyone, and please do not open the door for anyone.

RELIGION INSTRUCTION CLASSES (CCD) for the 2016-2017 school year will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:15 PM. Classes will be held in the Holy Family Center beginning on September 14 for grades Pre-K thru 8. If you were not able to attend the registration meeting last Wednesday night, you can register your child online. Go to www.strita.org Religious Education, CCD Online registration form. Fill out the form and pay registration by clicking the pay button at the bottom of the form.

KC COUNCILS will be sponsoring a rosary and prayer service in the Cathedral Courtyard on September 11 at 3:00pm in memory of the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001. Everyone is invited to attend.

Throughout the month of September we will observe a Month of Prayer for Peace, Justice and Mercy at St. Rita. Please refer to the bulletin insert for more information!
Next weekend, we will welcome Fr. Albi Mulloth of the Diocese of Nayyyattenkara, India. Fr. Albi will appeal to us for financial help for his own parish, St. Paul’s Church. To donate to this mission, please use a pew envelope marked “Mission Appeal” or write “Mission Appeal” in the memo line of your check. Thank you for your generosity!
Next Sunday, September 4, Pope Francis will celebrate the canonization of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta! Few in our modern world embody selfless love as did St. Teresa. Fr. Taylor Reynolds will be in attendance at the canonization in Rome, and looks forward to sharing his experience with us upon his return. St. Teresa prayer cards will be in the pews next weekend as we celebrate this wonderful saint.
NEW SHUT-INS: In the past we have found people who were in the hospital, who should have been on our shut-ins list. If you know someone who is Catholic, belongs to St. Rita Parish and cannot come to Mass because of medical reasons, please contact Etta Ohrt at 445-7141 ext 210. We have Eucharistic servers who bring communion to all our shut-ins at least once a week. Our priests visit shut-ins regularly. Please be aware of your neighbors.

BEGINNING EXPERIENCE is now registering now for a weekend away toward a lifetime of change at Maryhill Renewal Center on September 16-18, 2016. This program helps grieving single again persons to emerge from the darkness of grief into the light of a new beginning, and move into the future with renewed hope. Cost is $185.00 which includes two nights lodging and meals.
