      ALTAR SANCTUARY LAMPS were provided in loving memory of Toni Lynn Hogue by Jorge and Phyllis Vilar. If you are interested in having a loved one remembered by providing the sanctuary lamps, call the church office at 445-7141 ext 214. $7.50 per candle.

      ADORATION CHAPEL: The Blessed Sacrament is reserved for adoration by all the faithful in the St. Pius X Chapel located in the rear of the Church building. Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament is strongly encouraged as the Eucharist is the ‘source and summit’ of our spiritual lives. Adorers can attest to the many favors received through this devout practice. To obtain the combination for the chapel stop by the church office at 3822 Bayou Rapides Road, during office hours. We remind you to not give the code to anyone, and do not open the door for anyone who knocks as she/he does have not the code.

      SPECIAL MINISTRIES COLLECTION this month is for the Permanent Diaconate program. There is a new class of 13 men who have committed themselves to the 4-year Permanent Diaconate program. St. Meinrad Seminary will once again be providing the formation for these men right here in Alexandria, but this program does require extra funding. Please be generous to this collection for the Permanent Diaconate program. You may use the envelope in your monthly packet or a pew envelope clearly marked and simply drop it in the collection basket.

      The St. Rita Spiritual Formation Commission will sponsor the annual Brunch Workshop on Saturday, August 16 from 8:30 AM -12:30 PM in the Holy Family Center. Fr. Hector Medina, from the Diocese of Fort Worth, will present Sacraments: The Language We Speak.

      Fr. Medina has worked with divorce ministry, studied Canon Law at Catholic University, and worked in the Marriage Tribunal of the Diocese of Fort Worth. He has also served as a chaplain to Beginning Experience retreats and is the author of December Roses: Pastoral Reflections on Divorce.
