      ALTAR FLOWERS: If you are interested in donating fresh flowers for the altar call the church office at 445-7141 ext 214. Flowers are $75 for both arrangements.

      ALTAR SANCTUARY LAMPS were provided in loving memory of Shaheen and Michael families of Louisiana and Tillie Abide Shibley by Ed and Marie Michael. If you are interested in having a loved one remembered by providing the sanctuary lamps, call the church office at 445-7141 ext 214. Cost is $7.50 per candle.

      ADORATION CHAPEL: The Blessed Sacrament is reserved for adoration by all the faithful in the St. Pius X Chapel located in the rear of the Church building. To obtain the combination for the chapel  stop by the church office at 3822 Bayou Rapides Road, during office hours. We remind you not to give the code to anyone, and please do not open the door for anyone.

      ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE FOR THE POOR on Thanksgiving Day at the 8:00 AM Mass. There will be a collection of non-perishable foods and monetary
      gifts you may use the poor box envelope in your monthly packet or a clearly marked pew envelope and drop in the collection basket at any time during the month of November. Baskets for food donations will be placed near the Book of Remembrance and in the foyer of the Church this weekend.

      Notes from the Pastor......

        As we celebrate the great feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, we also celebrate the end of our Liturgical year.  On Thursday we celebrate Thanksgiving Day and next weekend we begin the holy season of Advent!
         Please join us for our Thanksgiving Day Mass, Thursday, November 27 at 8:00 AM. We will collect non-perishable food items or monetary donations during the offertory procession at our   These items will be donated to the Central Louisiana Food Bank.

       We have many activities and spiritual opportunities planned during the season of Advent.  Please refer to the bulletin insert for a complete listing.  Mark you calendars now for our Advent Morning and Evening of Prayer and Reflection, Monday, December 1.  The morning session will be from 8:30 - 10:30 AM (we encourage you to attend the 8 AM Mass that day) and the evening session will be from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.  (The evening session is a repeat of the morning session.)

          Our presenter will be Fr. Robert Young of Radio Maria, and the topic is “A Voice In The Wilderness: The Baptismal Call of all the Faithful.”  Our sessions will include prayer and reflection by Fr. Taylor and myself, and the St. Rita music ministries.  Please plan to join us!

      POINSETTIA’S FOR OUR SHUT-INS: This year we will again be collecting monetary donations to purchase  poinsettia’s for our 100 shut-ins.  The poinsettia’s will be delivered to the shut-ins on Tuesday, December 22, by Fr. Scott, Fr. Taylor, Deacon Ray and the sisters.  If you would like to make a donation, please use a pew envelope, mark it Shut-Ins and drop it in the collection basket.  Thanks for your continued support.

      CHRISTMAS MEMORIAL FLOWER FUND:  Remember your loved ones by donating to the Christmas flower fund. A list of the donors and the names of those being remembered will be published in the January 11 bulletin. Donations for the decorating fund is $10. Make checks payable to the St. Rita Altar and Rosary Society, and please include the name(s) of those to be remembered. Money collected in the flower envelopes at Christmas and Easter is used to decorate the church at Christmas and Easter and also for flowers on the altar throughout the year. Thank you for your support!

      MISSIONARIES OF ST. FRANCIS DE SALES collected $4,865 at their recent weekend appeal at St. Rita!  I received the following letter, from Rev. Joseph Pottemmel, MSFS, from the USA Vice Province:  “Your parish community has been very generous and we deeply appreciate that generosity.  I know that our missionaries and the people they serve in different mission territories in the world will be grateful to you.  God bless you and all you do for the mission of the Church beyond your parish and diocese.  You and the generous and faithful people of your Parish are in our prayers.”    –Fr.       ST. CECILIA CHORALE CONCERT: The Avoyelles based St. Cecilia Chorale will perform at St. Rita Church on December 5 at 6:30 PM for a joyous anticipation of the coming of the Christ child. All proceeds of this concert will go to benefit Radio Maria.
